![]() Hope it works out for yah PS I havent a HD with my slim but i think you can load uLaunchELF onto the HD and then you only have to LAUNCHING HDD APPLICATION (DEV2 MODE): -Press L1 on joypad 1. And that’s it! I hope anyone who has difficulty setting up hard drive with PS2 will be helped by this post.Hi i have an matrix infinity v 1.82 chip there is on the website an dev2 cd download if you change the name of your elf in boot.elf and place it on the cd it loading your elf said on the webpage but when i put the cd in the ps2 with ulaunch 3.51 it starts up looking for cdrom0: then it goes to searching hdd but the he said cannot find hdd do i need to have an internal hdd? I have an external 160gb and if i am wrong about this plz can someone say what software i need for using elfs of an pendrive or hdd? You need to download the version that supports the Slim with external HD download this Hope that helps there the both of them in there and a read me but just use the BOOTslimPStwo.ELF one. I will see that my PS2 will boot into OPL and list all the games that I have installed using WinHIIP. Lastly, I could remove the USB Drive from PS2, and set boot mode to DEV2 (hard drive). The system folder contains wLaunchELF, so I select that application, browse to DEV2I.ELF file and run it. ![]() This tutorial contains the link where I can download the system folder. Thirdly, to boot application from USB Drive on PS2, I have to change the boot mode to mass (using circle + triangle to enter Matrix Infinity menu), and I also need the application to be packed into a specific folder named system. The BOOT.ELF could be HDLoader or Open PS2 Loader (OPL) application, but I prefer OPL because it is newer and occasionally updated. I only need to put DEV2I.ELF and BOOT.ELF file to a USB drive, and run the DEV2I.ELF file by using wLaunchELF application in PS2. It is very easy to copy boot.elf to hard drive using Dev2Installer application. Secondly, to boot from HDD I need boot.elf file in the hard drive, which at this point right now I don’t have. ![]() ![]() After formatting and installing game is complete, I connect the hard drive to my PS2 using a network adapter. I also use WinHIIP to install PS2 games in ISO format to the hard drive. Playing from hard drive is only possible on fat PS2 model, in particular the 3000x, 3900x, and 5000x model.įirstly, I have to format my HDD to be compatible with PS2 system. If you have PS2 modded with matrix infinity / modbo chip, it is possible to boot into HDD without FMCB (Free McBoot). Load time will be faster, and the optic lens could be saved from extensive usage. It is generally better to backup PS2 games to hard drive in order to play it. ![]()
